In HIET College of Diploma Engineering & Technology, Electrical Department First Shift was started in 2010-11 and second shift was started in 2012-13 with an intake capacity of 60. The department has competent and committed faculties. The faculty members of Electrical Department are from industries and academics to enhance the delivery of academic programs in the department.

ABOUT DEPARTMENT
Students of the humanities are not just well-versed in their subject, they are also great communicators and excellent writers. They often have a love of arts and people as well. These qualities translate to a host of job options. We provides them the opportunities world wide. The English Communication skills laboratory is an integral part of the department. Students receive training in written and verbal communication essential to succeed in the work place.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Scope
Electrical Engineering is a branch of engineering that studies about the production and uses of Electric power, its generation and distribution and the control of machines. The field first became an identifiable occupation in the late nineteenth century after commercialization of the electric telegraph and electrical power supply. It now covers a range of subtopics including power system, Power electronics, control systems, signal processing and Electrical Machines.

Eligibility
Diploma in Electrical Engineering is a certificate/beginner level course in the domain of Electrical engineering and its related aspects. One can pursue the course after completion of his/her class 10th education. The course is of three years duration with a semester-wise system of examination.

Infrastructure
The department has Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering, D.C Machines & Transformers, Electrical Circuits & Networks, Electrical & Electronics Measurement, Basic Electronics (Electrical), Industrial Instrumentation, A.C. Machines, Switchgear & Protection, Power Electronics and Computer Laboratories. All laboratories are equipped with art of state equipment’s and software’s like MATLAB, Simulink, and AutoCAD.

Objectives
The educational objectives of the Electrical Engineering Program are to produce Engineers who, within three years after diploma, are able to be employed as a practicing engineer in fields such as design, research, development, testing, and manufacturing
