Apply NowELECTRICAL & ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING
Electrical Engineering Department, established in the year 2010 is one of the oldest departments of HIET, Shahpur. Electrical and Electronics Engineering is the branch of the engineering concerned with the practical applications of electricity in all its forms, including those of the field of electronics. Electronics engineering is that branch of electrical engineering concerned with use of electromagnetic spectrum and with the application of such electronic devices such as integrated circuit and transistors.
In engineering practice, the distinction between electrical engineering and electronics is usually based on the comparative strength of the electric current used. In this sense, electrical engineering is the branch dealing with heavy current i.e. electric light, power system and apparatus. Whereas electronics engineering deals with light current applications as telephone, radio communication, computers, radar and automatic control system.
ABOUT DEPARTMENT
The main areas of learning in this program pertain to principles and analysis of equipment and systems use in the generation, transmission, distribution and utilization of electrical energy. Other areas of learning pertain to electronic devices and circuits used in the measurement, instrumentation, control and protection of electrical equipment’s and conversion systems. Students also learn concepts related to computers and applications for computer based systems used in the design, analysis and operation of power system. Students execute mini-projects in their laboratory courses. Students are given rigorous training by expert trainers, to enhance their chances of being placed in a reputed/renowned company. They are also encouraged to publish papers in national and international conferences. They are actively engaged in multidisciplinary work on satellites (Studs at), Robotics and MEMS. And solar vehicles etc.
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
The function performed by Electrical and Electronics Engineers include basic research in physics and mathematics in order to extend knowledge applicable to the field of electrical and electronics engineering. Design of devices, equipments, and system for manufacturers and field testing of equipment and system, Development of new materials, devices, assemblies suitable for existing or proposed product lines. Reputed and Eminent companies like IBM, Microsoft, Infosys, Wipro, Cap Gemini, L&T; Bajaj Electricals Limited, Siemens, Jindal Steel & Power, General Electric, Schneider Electric etc. have successfully placed /hired our Students.
